“Don’t Tag Me for Anything” – Nick Kyrgios Taunts Novak Djokovic After Adria Tour Fallout

Nick Kyrgios has been very vocal on Twitter recently. He has tweeted about the US Open and also criticized the Adria Tour. Today he dropped in a tweet and offered his prayers to the players who contracted the Coronavirus and also taunted them for their irresponsibility and immaturity.
He took a jibe at all the players who attended the tournament. Especially Novak Djokovic as he was the one who was very much wanted the Adria Tour. He taunted their stupidity in the viral nightclub video.

“Don’t tag me for anything I’ve done that has been ‘irresponsible’ or classified as ‘stupidity’, this takes the cake.” Kyrgios reacting to the viral night club video involving Djokovic and the others.
He also wished them to get well. Kyrgios has been advising and tweeting everyone to take the virus seriously. He replied and scolded Borna Coric for attending the exhibition event.
“Boneheaded decision to go ahead with the ‘exhibition’, speedy recovery fellas, but that’s what happens when you disregard all protocols. .”

This isn’t Kyrgios’ first taunt at Djokovic or any of the organizers of the tour. Kyrgios earlier gave a sarcastic reply to the announcement that Adria Tour is canceled. He has been questioning Djokovic’s leadership and lately, many members of the ATP players council have had doubts over Djokovic’s role as the president of the council. He doesn’t attend meetings and now with the Adria Tour, Djokovic could well be heading out of that position.

The Adria Tour has been a center of attention for many people now. It has been the headline for various reasons because many people across the world have observed from the photos itself that social distancing was not done. There were no masks and the stadium was full of spectators. Even the players were into high fives and handshakes. A huge lapse in decision making there.
With every fan optimistic of tennis’ return in two months, the World No.1 getting COVID-19 could put a dent on the proceedings. Although the Adria Tour was Novak Djokovic’s idea and wasn’t an ATP event it will still create a little panic. And so ATP has gone on to establish stronger rules and checks to make sure safety is the priority.
