“Don’t Take Anyone Else’s Opinions”: Emma Raducanu Fires Back at England Rugby Coach

British tennis player Emma Raducanu is one of the most prominent players on the Tour at the moment. The manner in which she has performed towards the end of the 2021 season has been exceptional. 

However, there have been some issues that have caused quite a stir with regards to Emma Raducanu. The tennis player has been on the spot as the England Rugby Coach Eddie Jones had criticized her for the exposure she received post the US Open success.

To which, Raducanu hit back and stated, “I feel like people are gonna have opinions and expectations of me, but I don’t really think about that. To me, it doesn’t matter and to me the things that matter are the expectations of myself and what I want to achieve and what I want to get out of the day.”

“It’s just about improving and seeing yourself get better and I don’t take anyone else’s opinions into account except for my close circle.”

Emma Raducanu is unfazed by the attention on the outside

Emma felt that at the end of the day, people will have their opinions. Some may be towards her liking and some may not. She wants to focus on herself and strives for improvement each day. Only the people who are close to her matter at this stage in her life and career.

Coming to tennis, Emma gained fame when she competed at the Wimbledon Championships. She surprised everyone when she made it to the second week of the competition. After that, she created history when she won the US Open in her first appearance.

Beating prominent names during the final Grand Slam of the season

During the event, she beat many top players. Players such as Maria Sakkari, Belinda Bencic, and most notably teenager Leylah Fernandez were beaten en route to winning the tournament.

However, after that things did not go as per her wishes. She crashed out of the Indian Wells in the opening round and fired her coach. Her moves were questioned by former greats. Nonetheless, we wish her other very best in her future endeavors and for the upcoming 2022 season.
