UFC Welterweight champion Kamaru Usman has been a dominant force in the UFC. He has defended his title multiple times, and it has always been a sight to behold.

The Nigerian beat the BMF belt holder, Jorge Masvidal, in his last fight and they will now fight each other at UFC 261 yet again. He talked to TMZ Sports ahead of this fight about how this fight took place, among other things.

He talked about Masvidal’s will to fight him and the fact that the Cuban has promised to defeat him on multiple occasions. “It’s two things.

“One, either he truly believes it, which I have to take very, very seriously, or he’s just too stupid to understand what’s happening right now. I’ve got to believe that it’s the first one, and I got to take him at his word,” Usman said.

The Nigerian said that he respects Masvidal as an opponent and called him very dangerous. He appreciated his displays in 2019 but reminded him that 2019 was far gone.

I said it, and I have said it before, you know, you’re a journeyman. Not in a disrespectful way because there’s nothing wrong in being a journeyman,” he added. Masvidal got his big break when Nate Diaz called him out, and they fought for the BMF title.

He continued on the topic of Masvidal being a journeyman and said, “That’s good cause that means you’re gonna win some, and you’re gonna lose some. That’s okay.

“There’s absolutely nothing wrong with that, but don’t try to pose as if you’re something more than that, as if you can dethrone the champion.
