Guy “DrDisrespect” Beahm wasn’t always the two-time champion. Like most famous internet personalities, the self-proclaimed gaming specimen also had humble beginnings.

Of Humble Beginnings

Born on March 10, 1982, his life in video games started as a joke. His initial gamer-tag was ‘DiarrheaPanic.’ Guy Beahm was a basketball player in university and spent his leisure time dominating in Halo. It was in the dark alleyways of Halo 2 where the alter-ego “DrDisrespect” was born. After that, he changed his Halo username to “DrDisrespect.” On January 11, 2010, The Doc began his assault on the online gaming community by posting his first video on Youtube featuring his COD: MW 2 gameplay. His content was built around taunting opponents after he killed them.

First Wave Of Popularity

The Doc started creating content for the gaming channel Machinima, and that’s where his first wave of popularity began. But then, almost as quickly as his initial popularity spread, DrDisrespect disappeared. Guy Beahm put down his alter-ego and pursued his dreams of a career in the gaming industry. On March 16, 2011, Beahm joined Sledgehammer Games as the community manager. Later, he was promoted to level designer and participated in the development of seven of the maps in COD: Advanced Warfare. Guy Beahm joined Justin.tv (now Twitch) while working at Sledgehammer. In 2015, Guy Beahm quit his job at Sledgehammer and unleashed DrDisrespect again. In March 2016, he started streaming full-time.

The Face Of Twitch

Doc’s popularity skyrocketed with the development of the battle royale genre. He started playing H1Z1, and it’s here where his love for battle royales began. Later, The Doc switched to PUBG, which was the main attraction at the time. During the summer of 2017, Doc’s average viewership on Twitch reached 30,000. Thereby he acquired his nickname “The Face of Twitch” and received industry awards for both streamer of the year & gamer of the year. The internet, Twitch, gaming, and DrDisrespect were now synonymous. But then, one day, Guy Beahm broke character.

In December 2017, he took a break from streaming, to cater to his relationship with his wife after a frank admission of being unfaithful to her. A month passed, and Twitch’s hero was nowhere to be seen. Late January brought signs of Doc’s return with social media rumblings, and a short YouTube teaser marked his return for February. He returned to streaming on February 5, 2018, with a peak of 388,000 concurrent viewers. He also signed sponsorship deals with Gillette, G Fuel, ASUS, and Razer, owing to his popularity.

Then on September 11, 2018, while The Doc streamed COD Black Ops 4: Blackout, an unknown person shot at his house and broke an upstairs window. The Doc was infuriated at this dastardly and desperate yet cowardly act.

While attending the 2019 edition of E3 in Los Angeles on June 11, 2019, DrDisrespect’s channel was suspended while he was streaming from the event. He had violated Twitch’s privacy policy rules. His cameraman followed him into a public restroom at the venue with filming still going on. Although hilarious, it was still a violation of Twitch’s rules. Twitch restored his channel on June 25.

The Doc does not characterize himself as a professional gamer, but a hotshot entertainer, a true dominating specimen in gaming. He dawns a bulletproof steel mullet, Google prototype scopes with in-built LCD LED 1080p 3D Sony technology and a black athletic full-sleeved shirt with a red tactical vest on top. He sports a mustache, aka The Poisonous Ethiopian Caterpillar, and a switchblade comb to brush it.

The two-time champion in the online gaming community is renowned for dominating chubby cheek blonde bang inward knee’d pigeon-toed wannabe punk opponents with his Violence, Speed, and Momentum. Always remember, he’s at the tippity top of the mountain but only halfway up really.
