After an explosive start to Day 2 of E3 2021 with the Xbox & Bethesda Showcase, fans were really excited to see the next gaming developer in Square Enix step up to showcase its future projects. For the past few days, a lot of rumors floated around the company’s press conference and all the announcements that might come during it.

One of more intriguing rumors revolved around an undisclosed Eidos Montreal project that piqued the interests of fans around the world. The developers started their show with this project which was soon revealed to be a Marvel comics title involving the Guardians of the Galaxy. Along with an amazing cinematic trailer, fans also witnessed some pretty cool gameplay footage and many more.

Square Enix releasing second Marvel title after Avengers with Guardians of the Galaxy

It seems like developers Square Enix is all in on the Marvel hype train. After releasing the Avengers game last year, the company is moving towards another major team-up from the comics in the Guardians of the Galaxy. The group of misfits has been one of the most successful and popular teams in the world of all things comics. It involves hilarious characters like Star Lord aka Peter Quill, Drax, Gamora, Groot and Rocket.

Following an epic run with the books, the group received a commercially successful adaptation directed by esteemed director James Gunn in 2014. It received so much acclaim that Marvel released a sequel titled Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 in 2017. Other than that, there’s also a third movie which will release in 2023 along with a Holiday Special TV Show next year.

Guardians of the Galaxy to be a single player experience with Star Lord

The Eidos Montreal game is simply titled Guardians of the Galaxy and it will arrive on October 26, 2021. Along with the name and the release date, the E3 2021 event also divulged other major details of the game. This included a lot of gameplay and cinematic footage of the title, which involved stunning environments and amazing character designs.

Unlike The Avengers, this game will be a single player campaign experience with players taking control of Star Lord. Peter Quill is considered to be the leader of the group, and the game will have some pretty crazy characters and storylines. So fans will have a lot of choices to make as the head of the team to save everyone. This means making the right call during hilarious situations, and fighting the big-bads with his misfit family.

Fans can expect to see a lot of heart and humor during the action-packed moments of the game. It will be an experience unlike no other involving some of the most well-known characters from the world of Marvel. Fans should definitely try it out as the game arrives on PC, and all Xbox and PlayStation consoles this October.
