“Elina is the One Who Decides It”: Gael Monfils on Going on a Holiday with Elina Svitolina

Gael Monfils is planning to spend some free time with his girlfriend Elina Svitolina who lost to Ashleigh Barty in the finals of the 2019 Shiseido WTA Finals Shenzhen on Sunday.
It is still unclear where the high-profile couple will travel for their vacation, however, the Frenchman has divulged that he does not make the decision about vacation plans and she likes to be in London so the pair will probably head for London to relax.

Talking about where the couple will go for a vacation during the offseason, Gael Monfils revealed to the Rolex Paris Masters social media accounts that “Elina is the one who decides.”
Though Monfils did not qualify for the Nitto ATP Finals 2019 in London, the 33-year-old plans to go to London as his girlfriend, Elina Svitolina likes to spend some time there. “Yes, I’m going to London. I have to relax. I have to make sure that I’m ready also for personal reasons. Elina likes to spend time in London, so I’m going to go there,” said Monfils.
Gael Monfils aimed to enter the top 10 and reach the ATP World Tour Finals 2019, however, the Frenchman couldn’t complete his objective and will now head to play the last event of the year – Davis Cup 2019 in Madrid. Earlier, Elina Svitolina had revealed that she will be traveling with Monfils to Madrid to support him at the Davis Cup Finals.

My aim was to end up in the top 10, and of course, the London Masters was another goal, but it was too hard.” Monfils added: “I will not say that I’m relieved, but I’m exhausted. Sometimes I feel that you act as if I were a robot.
The 25-year-old star also revealed her plans during the offseason as she suggested that she will support her boyfriend at the Davis Cup 2019 and will travel to her hometown in Ukraine to meet her family before hosting a charity event for her foundation.

The WTA Finals 2019 runners-up said in an interview: “He (Gael Monfils) will also be heading to Madrid for the Davis Cup finals so I will be there to support him out there. I’ll also take some time for myself and will head to Ukraine to see my family as well as host an auction for my charity, the Elina Svitolina Foundation, in Kiev in November.”
