Elina Svitolina Injury Update: Miami Open 2019

The Ukrainian tennis player, Elina Svitolina ended her American swing campaign in her opening round loss in the Miami Open 2019 against the Chinese tennis player, Wang Yafan. The World Number seven, Svitolina spent some exhausting hours on the desert courts and she surrendered her semifinal match to the eventual champion, Bianca Andreescu in three sets in California. 

Recently, the former World Number three, Elina Svitolina updated about her health issues and her physical fitness. It seems the Ukrainian dwelled on her American tour ambling since her knee was not in perfect form. She updated her Instagram and informed her followers with her knee issue.

“Hey, guys! Wanted to give you a little update on my health issues”, Elina Svitolina posted. “I have been straggling with knee pain for the past 5 weeks. Unfortunately, it got worst after long matches and MRI scans confirm it. My team has been working really hard to make me feel less pain, so I could compete during US swing. But now I have strongly been recommended by doctors to take my time to let it heal. I will do everything what’s in my power to speed up my recovery and come back healthier. I want to thank everyone for the support and love, Eli.”

Besides her professional splendor, Elina Svitolina is also involved in other activities. Earlier, this month she declared the launch of the Elina Svitolina Foundation at TbarM Racquet Club in Dallas, Texas. The objective of her foundation is to motivate the budding generation of tennis players to hold the tennis racquets firmly and reach the level of the sport. Also, teaches them to inculcate the values of perseverance and discipline.

“Tennis is a great sport that has created wonderful opportunities for me and I want to do my best to open doors for children to learn and excel in the sport. My goal is to help others by connecting people and resources worldwide,” Elina Svitolina mentioned.
