EPL’s New Arrivals; Do They Stand Any Chance?

The game of football is based on the system of promotions and relegations. Every year , the three poor performing teams are relegated to a lower league and three top performing teams from the same league fill the vacant spots. Well, this year, Leicester City, Burnley and QPR were the gainers.

Leicester City

Leicester City is a football club which represents the city of Leicester. The Foxes, which they are usually called, last played in the Premier League in the 2003-04 Season but couldn’t hold on longer and got relegated straight to League One due to poor performances. But this year, they made no mistake and did the impossible. They won the English League Championships with an impeccable 102 points, no less than Newcastle’s score in 2010. Their main strength was their midfield and their defense which made their task of being promoted easier.

Burnley is a football club which represents it’s town. The Clarets, their usual name, last played in the Premier League in the 2009-10 season in which they came 18th and followed the course of relegation. But this year, thanks to their top notch and in form striker, Danny Ings, they came second in the English League Championships . Their attack was their main strength and was quite deadly and was proven quite fatal.

The Hoops, their common name, last played in the Premier League in the recent 2012-13 season and just took 1 year to come back to the top tier of English football. Even though they came 4th in the Championship, They qualified through the play-off stage and got themselves promoted. They are good all around, as a whole, and have the financial power to strengthen their team.
