Reddit user, u/RoyalMurderer missed the ultimate New Year countdown for the celebration, and when they tried to turn back the time, they, unfortunately, forgot to turn back the year. Even so, at least they get to celebrate something, right?

Unsurprisingly, the Reddit post has been a great hit among other users. Misery truly does love company. Moreover, the comment section is filled with hilarious remarks on 2022. One such Reddit user commented, “Good strategy… skip 2022 entirely. Move straight on. He’ll yeah!”. Well, skipping an entire year and just moving on to the next one won’t be that bad, especially with all the pandemic restrictions.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons gives you all the freedom in the world to set a countdown for a flashy New Year celebration filled with stunning fireworks. The bonus point is that you don’t have to do anything to start the countdown, actually. The big timer on your Island will start ticking at 11:59 p.m. on December 31, every year. When it hits 12, beautiful fireworks will start going off. Just make sure that you don’t miss the countdown time, otherwise, you have to miss all those gorgeous fireworks.

Basically, the New Year’s Countdown is how the villagers celebrate the New Year in Animal Crossing. During this special event, you can also collect multiple items (special New Year treats) that will help you celebrate this special day in style. This includes a flashy light stick that you can use in the celebration. Just wave it in the air when the New Year begins.
