Norris earned the third slot on the starting grid thanks to his outstanding performance during the qualifying session on Saturday. It was a shocking outcome for Norris and the McLaren team, especially following a hard day on Friday, with Max Verstappen taking first place and Carlos Sainz coming in second. 

Reflecting on the unexpected outcome, Norris admitted, “I definitely wasn’t thinking at all to be in the top three. But I’m very happy to be here, so a good day.”

“I want to send all my best wishes to my Halo team. They have done very well so far. I’ll be watching them… I’ll be cheering them on!” said the bright star of F1 as he made his way towards his van.
