2024 Call of Duty Title’s Setting Reportedly Leaked as Treyarch Continue to Make Progress

Call of Duty is the world’s third-highest-grossing video game franchise. Given how well-liked the game is, it makes sense how each year, game developers update and add fresh material for users to enjoy. But even after that, fans still want more! As a result, Treyarch is once more tasked with creating a brand-new CoD game.

For years, practically all the core Call of Duty games were developed by Treyarch, a company owned by Activision. Treyarch is the creator of popular titles, including COD 3, World at War, and COD- Black Ops Cold War, which was all released between 2006 and 2020.

Call of Duty to be set in the 90s for the new installment

A Call of Duty source just posted on Twitter that a new COD game is currently being developed. The game is said to take place in the 1990s, right around the Gulf War. This announcement made fans happy and excited for the release as it is expected to release in 2024 with the probable inclusion of a multiplayer element.

Surprisingly though, many fans got upset because they were not sure about a particular game being made every year will make any progress in the series. Although it is the same for many such game franchises, Call of Duty can sometimes surprise fans. But a question always arises, for how long?

Every year developers have been trying to make different content for the game. From adding new weapons to Zombies, Activision had tried it all. The makers have delivered a more well-rounded narrative and gameplay, but there was always something lacking for fans.

First-person shooters are part of very dangerous territory. Sometimes they can be extremely overwhelming to play, while in others they are just simple point-and-click experiences. This is further added with the concept of storytelling to a wider range. Games like Far Cry 3 and BioShock are examples of such immersive gameplay.

Although it can be argued that these are once-in-a-lifetime hits but the way these games were capable of telling a story from someone else’s perspective is commendable. The same is the case with CoD, but with more consecutive hits than others.
