This is an important factor to notice while playing the game. Often creatures who tend to attack you from the front will have a dangerous partner lurking behind. That is, while you are busy fighting a creature and backing out while shooting, there is a high chance that you might get attacked from your blindside. So, in many instances, you can run towards an enemy and kill them, and then turn around and knock out their partner. This gives you additional space too when killing that second enemy that is lurking.

21) Have a better sound system

The best assistant to know from which side potential threats might come is your hearing. The game actually has dynamic sounds. So, if you manage to use a good surround speaker system or genuine headphones, it will surely be of help to know the direction of the incoming attack.  These positional audio ques are helpful and avoid jumpscares when Necromorphs pop out of nowhere.

20) Utilize the Guidance Feature

Dead Space has a complex environment and thus there is a high chance that players might get lost. To solve such dilemmas, utilize the guidance feature that is available in the game. This shows a blue pathway towards the area you have to go in order to progress in the game.

19) Make sure to revisit areas

At first, players may not have high-security clearances. This means some areas will remain locked until players get the necessary clearance to explore that area. A hint that can be used is that the security rooms you have not visited will be marked as dark blue, and the areas you have will be light blue. So do not forget to revisit these unexplored spaces. Furthermore, many security boxes and lockers are not marked on the map. So, keep your eye out for these.

18) Gooey floor

After progressing for a while in the game, players will come across floors that are gooey and slimy. Though this may gross some people out, this area can be a tactical ground during fights. Yes, players’ movement is restricted on these surfaces. But, this area also restricts movement for the creatures. So, devise plans accordingly and use them to your advantage.

17) Favorite-based drops

The items in the game are randomly generated, including drops from the enemies. But, these randomly generated items follow a pattern according to your inventory. So, place the items that you need the most in the inventory. Like your favorite gun, so you get its ammo or health items so you get related drops from enemies.

16) Workbench trick: reload

When players are running low on mag, they can simply just go to the workbench and upgrade it. This automatically reloads the gun and players will get additional ammo for free.

15) Aim for the legs

It is quite irritating to hit shots on the enemies if they are swiftly cruising towards you. Hit their legs first to slow the Necromorphs down and then land the finishing blow. This will be more helpful when dealing with fast Necromorphs.

14) Stomp enemies to death

This is a way in which not only you can save ammo, but get additional items. Some Necromorphs have items in them that may not have dropped. Stomping them will churn out those items.

13) Zero G Kenesis

For opening chests, usually players have to hit the boxes or stomp them. But in areas of Zero-G (Gravity-free areas), players can use Kinesis to pull the objects close and break them by throwing them to the walls or floor.

12) Upgrade the Plasma Cutter

Though there are quite a few guns in the game, the Plasma Cutter is a force to be reckoned with. It is one of the most reliable guns in the game. Thus, ideally, it’s better to invest and upgrade this particular gun.

11) Save ammo, use Kinesis

Ammo is quite rare in the game. So do not waste it on Necromorphs who can be killed by other means. Look around for explosive barrels and use Kinesis and throw at the Necromorphs. This will not only save ammo but even one shot can kill some enemies.

10) Infectors: Priority First

In chapter 2 of the game, Infectors are the most annoying enemies. They are flying creatures that not only are annoying to kill but create a ruckus for the players. Especially because they convert corpses into Necromorphs. So ideally take them out first in your fights.

9) Use hazards to your advantage

The environment of the game is densely detailed. These include many areas which can kill Issac if he passes by them. The shock from the faulty wires is an example of such a place. Use these to your advantage. Most enemies don’t have much IQ level and they will blindly run into these if you place these hazards between you and the enemy. Another way for free kills!

8) Break stuff to create

There is a lot of breakable stuff in the game. Some of these can be deadly weapons if used right. For example, players can smash out the fan from the exhaust and use it like a deadly blade with Kinesis. The blue-rodded shelves are also another such item.

7) Back Story

When players start the game and gain control over Issac, they have the option to know the backstory of what happened. Take the first right to see a prompt to read about the past of the main character.

6) Sprint backwards

One interesting control that players can use while fighting those fast enemies one by one is sprinting back. There is an option to do so in the game, and it is quite helpful in a lot of instances. This provides a space between you and the enemy. But make sure you are not getting flanked.

5) Remap controls

Every action in the game can be modified under any key you want. It will help you in your journey in the game.

4) Statis Module

Players will get this equipment in the first chapter of the game. This is yet another ammo-saving ability. Especially in situations where you fight those junior mutants who are very fast. These will help in slowing down enemies and helps in killing them.

3) Save for upgrades

Yes, players may run low on ammo every now and then. And there rises a tendency to buy more ammo. Try to avoid these and invest more in upgrades. Especially on your suit and weapon upgrades.

2) Utilize secondary fire

Always remember that there is secondary fire for weapons. Though it takes more ammo, in certain situations these are very helpful. The proximity mines and Ripper’s saw blade will turn the odds in your favor. But be cautious when you use it.

1) Dying to learn

A lot of ammo can go to waste if players are unable to find the weak point of the enemies. So instead of running through an entire clip and not finding the target, it is okay to die. This might be a learning curve to find the weak spot on the enemies, and thus can save you a lot of ammo.
