It seems like Fallout is a video game series very close to Elon Musk’s heart. He revealed this during the E3 2019 convention while talking to Bethesda’s legendary designer Todd Howard. During the E3 event in 2019, the business magnate had a session with Bethesda’s designer, Todd Howard. The two, obviously, talked about a lot of stuff based on video games. At the beginning of the conversation, Mr. Howard asked Musk about his interest in gaming.

In his response, Elon Musk replied that he was a big fan of Bethesda’s games like Skyrim and Fallout. But he stressed on his interest in the Fallout franchise the most. In fact, he also shared a very interesting childhood memory regarding the open world series.

Being a massive fan, he once wished to have a life-sized statue of the Vault Boy from the Fallout franchise as his birthday gift. And he eventually received it as well.

“It was so weird having that at the party, because there were basically two nerds that knew what it referred to. They were like “yeah”. And everyone else were like “man that’s weird””.

For all those who are unware, somehow, the 1950s-looking vault boy is the evergreen, famous poster boy of all the Fallout titles released so far. He’s basically identical with the entire series itself.

But Elon Musk’s weird passion to have a statue of him as a present is surely a little strange to believe. However, it’s always fun to know about such memories from someone like him who’s seen as just a business-minded personality.
