The rumors around The Last of Us III have been running around the internet for a long while now. Following the phenomenal success of HBO’s The Last of Us TV series, the video game’s part 3 seemed like a matter of time. However, the progress of the project has been a prolonged mystery. Well, until now as a very subtle tease has yet again brought the release speculations in the limelight. 

Naughty Dog is allegedly working on a single-player title and fans already had a lot of reasons to believe it’s none other than The Last of Us III. However, there hasn’t been any official confirmation on the rumor, with this latest hint, fans are more than convinced of their theory. Moreover, aligning the recent tease with the series’ director’s previous statements, it’s all starting to make sense.

The latest social media trends on TLOU 3 were initially fueled by an Instagram post by Shannon Woodward, the actor who plays the character of Dina in the game. Woodward had posted a picture of herself working in a studio. What intrigued the TLOU fans was the caption. “Top secret video game”, the caption read. Of course, the caption was enough to ignite a fire of trends around the Naughty Dog giant. 

But the series of rumors do not just end here. Following the wild trends, a Reddit user almost made the biggest revelation on the third edition to date. The user allegedly revealed every update on the game along with insights into the narrative and features. The leaker claimed to have collected all the information through a locked Patreon. So, a major Spoiler Alert for all the TLOU fans!

Part of the plot will be about a group of scavengers surviving on the outskirts of a post-apocalyptic city, crammed into a Victorian house that serves as their base. They are looking to cast these roles: Lucas, the male, is affable, but develops a relationship with another young scavenger and will have a turn to show his dark side. Mason, male, a former soldier. When Val gets put in charge, Mason must choose between his loyalty to Ezra and the house. Val, female, leader of the group. Ezra, the male, wants to take the house from Val. Gracis, female, 18-25 (no other details on this character)” the leaker posted on Reddit.

Adding to that, the man claimed that the recordings for the game are scheduled to begin later this year. Also, Ellie would be playing as significant a role as she did in Part 2.

The writer and director of the classic video game have also been very smart in keeping the progress report of TLOU under the sheets. However, some curious fans have been able to scoop out the slightest of details from his interviews to track the development process. 

The director made a lot of buzz when he added “Writer/Director Naughty Dog announced game” to his Instagram bio. Also, in an interview earlier this month, he confirmed to be working on a Naughty Dog project. “As far as the next game at Naughty Dog, I can’t say anything. My comms director over there will slaughter me“, he had stated.
