Sony’s much-awaited PS5 Slim has made the headlines again but for a rather negative reason. Ever since the confirmation for a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 bundle with the new PS5 Slim was made, fans were invested in what followed. One of the fans spotted the instruction that read, “Internet connection required to pair disc drive and PS5 console upon setup.” Bringing the issue to the limelight, the user, through their X account, wrote, “How do you feel about the PS5 disc drive not being able to work without an internet first?” Responding to this, a veteran gaming editor wrote, “Uhhhh…if this is the case, that is highly concerning and very strange. Hardware connectivity shouldn’t be determined by a server that may not always be available.”

In the fine print, it is confirmed that gamers who purchase the new model with the extra drive would need to connect to the internet when pairing it to a machine for the first time. This information was noticed on the back of the box for the upcoming Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 PS5 slim bundle.

As the post sparked a strong discussion online, netizens didn’t hesitate to jump into the discussion.

A user wants the fans to give the bundle a chance, as they believe it might be just a one-time thing.

The confusion is evident, as a user has another question that has been raised courtesy of the viral post.

Contrary to the surprised fans, an eSports enthusiast reveals they had already predicted the update and it might be the need of the hour.
