A Pac-Man Metaverse? Facebook Gaming and Bandai Namco Make an Exciting Announcement

Every gamer must know about Pac-Man. The iconic arcade game is definitely responsible for hooking us to gaming as children. It looks like Pac-Man might be making a comeback with its recent announcement on Facebook. This will be one of the first games where audiences can play together will spectating.

Pac-Man in Facebook Gaming

This new iteration of the long-loved, classic game will feature on Facebook Gaming with a new twist. This variation is that while streamers are in control Pac-Man, viewers and audience members can take control of the ghosts to hunt Pac-Man. What this means is that the viewers can take control and band together to beat the streamer. The Pac-Man Official took to a Twitter post to break the news to fans.


Bandai Namco, in collaboration with Genvid Technologies, worked for the game using cloud-based technology. This is not all, though. There is also a new feature introduced called Play With Streamer. This allows audience members to partake in the same game as a streamer as a part of the stream.

Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of Facebook, now called Meta, took to a post on his platform to tell people about the return of this iconic 4-decade old game.

“Pac-Man is coming to Facebook Gaming,” the post said. Adding on, he provided a brief overview of the new elements and features the game has to offer. The new game will allow players to play with their friends. The game offers the freedom to make players customizable maps and build their own mazes. This greatly increases player freedom and is bound to improve the overall player experience.

This edition of the game to Facebook bodes well with the Metaverse idea envisioned by the giant’s CEO.
