Ubisoft has had somewhat of a mellow 2023 in game releases. With only Trackmania having decent success this year, Ubisoft would surely be looking to release more successful titles. And if current revelations are accurate, they have a spectacular lineup of upcoming games until 2024.

These revelations were found in the recent earnings call by journalist Stephen Totilo. Tweeting about these revelations, he listed quite a few big names coming, including Assassin’s Creed Mirage and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora.

According to Totilo’s Tweet, the French company has many big names lined up for this year. The company says it’ll release Assassin’s Creed Mirage, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Rainbow 6 Mobile, Tom Clancy’s The Division Resurgence, Skull & Bones, The Crew Motorfest, XDefiant, and “another large game” by the end of March 2024.

This lineup of heavy titles will surely attract a vast number of fans. Ubisoft also has a plan of action to complete these games on time. The company will focus primarily on its magnum opus, Assassin’s Creed, to be finished first. They have stated to increase the number of developers on the Assassin’s Creed franchise by 40% “To fuel its ambitious expansion”.

This increase in developers on AC Mirage will come from a reallocation of developers working on other projects, according to CEO Yves Guillemot. With currently a massive team of 2,000 people working on the magnum opus, Ubisoft is still going to add the number of developers working on it in the coming year.

Is this plan to increase developers going to work?

But amidst current layoffs, this does not seem like a feasible plan. The total headcount of the company is down by 700 employees since September 2022 thanks to office closures, layoffs, and “Tight controls on recruitment”. And the $540 million loss from the last fiscal year just adds up to the pile of problems.

The company is also still not ready to give a concrete timeline for the release of games. When asked about the release dates for AC Mirage and Skull & Bones, Ubisoft gave a boilerplate response of waiting for the Ubisoft Forward event next month.
