The Haunting event in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II and Warzone has unleashed many spooky elements already. However, the addition of several deadly bosses is something players like the most. Now, some of them have made a mysterious discovery lately. What’s more weird to notice is that it’s got a direct connection with 2024’s rumored Black Ops installment from Treyarch.

By now, everyone is aware that Modern Warfare 3 will have Zombies. Additionally, to hype up this mode, devs have brought the undead souls to the existing title itself. As a result, fans can witness Zombies roaming across Al Mazrah and Vondead after the reveal of The Haunting. Strangely, though, the event has also unleashed an early look of a boss, expected to appear in COD 2024, in the latest Warzone update.

Zombie boss ‘The Pharaoh’ from Call of Duty 2024 has reportedly arrived early in The Haunting of Warzone

In total, there are six main bosses who have arrived in Warzone with The Haunting. The Butcher from Diablo 4, Swamp Creature, UFO, Ghost Train, and Evil Spirits are there. However, it’s the addition of the sixth boss, The Pharaoh, that has sent COD fans into a deep thinking mode. Why?

According to several leaks revealed so far, The Pharaoh is said to be one of the Zombie bosses from Call of Duty: Black Ops Gulf War. The latter is the rumored title from Treyarch Studios. This intel was recently shared by a YouTuber who runs the channel called TheGamingRevolution.

While talking about next year’s COD installment, he revealed that The Pharaoh is actually the mummy boss from COD 2024. It’s because the animations seen on this particular boss are reportedly being reused from Treyarch’s upcoming project. In other words, Black Ops 5’s Zombies mode will also feature The Pharaoh as one of the main enemies.

Now that’s going to be an interesting situation. Especially, given the fact that players are already finding it difficult to beat The Pharaoh in Warzone. If that’s the case right now, the character will likely be more powerful after arriving in Treyarch’s game. But eventually, that’s what most of the fans are fond of – grinding rewards by overcoming tough challenges in Zombie modes.

What to expect from COD in 2023 and beyond?

While 2024 is yet to begin, fans will still get a new Call of Duty in 2023, thanks to Activision‘s annual tradition. Modern Warfare 3 is going to be the next crucial FPS premium. Mainly developed by Sledgehammer Games, it will feature a revamped Multiplayer setup. This means fan-favorite movement mechanics will be back.

Moreover, 16 remastered maps are also returning after more than a decade. Hardcore series lovers will be able to revisit iconic areas like Rust, Afghan, Highrise, Scrapyard, and Derail among many others. There will be the traditional Campaign experience too. It will bring back popular characters such as Captain Price, Farah, Alex, Gaz, Ghost, Valeria, and Alejandro. A famous series villain Vladimir Makarov will also appear this time.

Speaking of  Call of Duty 2024, once again, the makers are yet to officially announce it. In short, fans will need to wait for now unless any substantial update from Activision is dropped.
