The Call of Duty franchise has grown exponentially in 2021, according to the first-quarter report. Activision Blizzard shared vital insights about the franchise’s performance in 2021. The report reveals year-on-year growth in the number of players, while the studio has also recorded an increment in sales.
The studio stated the free-to-play titles in Warzone, and Mobile has completely transformed the franchise. Subsequently, the mobile variant of the game has now recorded half a billion downloads.

Call of Duty Warzone and Mobile has transformed the franchise
In the first-quarter report, Activision and Blizzard have revealed interesting details about the franchise. The studio has recorded an overall 72% growth year-over-year driven by Warzone and Black Ops Cold War. The Battle Royale title even aided the studio to attain more premium sales in the first quarter.
The franchise has also seen an unprecedented rise in monthly active users (MAUs) ever since Warzone integrated with Black Ops Cold War. The report also claimed the first two seasons of the titles as the biggest in the franchise’s history.
