Call of Duty has a hacking issue. Especially, Warzone. The game’s battle royale mode is plagued with hackers. With wallhacks and aimbots, the hackers, cheaters, and exploiters give the game a bad rep. Call of Duty Vanguard is set to be integrated into Warzone in a manner similar to that of Black Ops Cold War.

Players were quite vocal about the issue of hacking in the game. In fact, the issue is so rampant that Activision disclosed details about Ricochet, its new anti-cheat as a part of the marketing for the upcoming title. It seems like this new anti-cheat means business and any offenders will be dealt with swiftly and severely.

Stricter anti-cheat in Call of Duty Warzone

In an official blog post, the team behind Ricochet revealed more details about the upcoming anti-cheat. They went over their security enforcement regarding exploiters. The team was quite vocal about the cheaters in the game.

They said, “Extreme or repeated violations of the security policy – such as in-game cheating – may result in a permanent suspension of all accounts. Additionally, any attempt to hide, disguise, or obfuscate your identity or the identity of your hardware devices may also result in a permanent suspension.”

The anti-cheat has threatened severe consequences. The blog suggested that violators of the anti-cheat would be subject to more than just a ban. The blog stated that cheaters could be banned not only from Warzone but from other iterations of the franchise as well. Even those that will come in the future are included.

There will also be the introduction of kernel drivers. Warzone will be the first to receive the driver which will accompany the launch of the new Warzone Pacific map in December.

The drivers, however, have stirred a fair amount of controversy. This can be attributed to the privacy issues associated with them. The kernel driver requires high-level access to a lot of hardware. This includes the graphic card driver.

Activision has reiterated that the kernels will only require access when the game is operational. However, players will have no choice. For PC players to play the game, the kernels will need to be active.
