2023 is surely a great year for gamers. The community is getting to see many of their prominent gaming characters coming live on the silver screen. The Last of Us created history breaking the supposed video game adaptation curse. And the hopes of Super Mario Bros. movie achieving similar heights are high.
The movie is packed with some of the most prominent personalities in the Hollywood space. Among them is the veteran actor Jack Black who is portraying the main antagonist Bowser. In a recent interaction, he was seen talking about how he was able to fill in the shoes of one of the most popular villains in the gaming industry.

There are many prominent characters in the Mario franchise. Among them, one noteworthy and most important character is Bowser. Being the main antagonist portrayed in the new movie as well, the team needed an apt actor to fill in the role. And they found these qualities in Jack Black. He is one of the most veteran actors in Hollywood and has decades of acting experience.
The 53-year-old actor divulged deep into the history of Mario to learn more about the iconic villain. Jack in the interview with the famous Ozzy Man was seen talking about the pressure he had while portraying Bowser. This was mainly because he wanted to give Bowser the iconic villain arch that he deserves.
“The villains are the spice of the broth,” stated Black. He feels like the antagonists are vital to an action-adventure. The star said the excitement that is generated from movies in this genre is dependent on the evilness that the antagonists bring.
For portraying Bowser, Jack Black took the help of his son. Apparently, he was a Donkey Kong-era guy, and that was his experience with Mario. So his son helped him to dig deep into understanding Bowser. He states that he was inspired by the source materials he came across in this regard.
Jack seems to like voice acting a lot and he admitted that he had fun while lending his voice to Bowser. This is not the first time he is indulging in such a genre. He also was a part of the Kung Fu Panda franchise where he portrayed the protagonist Po. Before that, he voiced the unique vegetarian shark in the Shark Tales movie.

Super Mario Bros. will release in the US on April 5, 2023. Other than Jack Black, the movie has famous actors like Chris Pratt, Anya Taylor-Joy, and Charlie Day portraying prominent Mario characters.
