The new era of the DC cinematic universe under the lead of James Gunn has been making headlines left and right. Mostly due to the influx of dropping some of the most well-known actors related to the previous DCU. At first, the director received a lot of backlash for firing the fan-favorite Superman Actor, Henry Cavill. 

Now another renowned actor Dwayne Johnson is also reported to be removed from the “First Chapter” of the new Universe. The Black Adam actor announced the news on his Twitter, making the fans a little more riled up against the new DC Universe under the lead of James Gunn.

Is Dwayne Johnson no longer a part of DC Universe?

With the unimpressive performance of the old DC universe on the big screen, Warner Bros. had taken the ultimate decision of ‘starting over’. This time, a new universe will be made from scratch with ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ and ‘The Suicide Squad’ director James Gunn and producer Peter Safran.

But to build something new, one has to let go of the old, and James is on the job. The Director had to receive a lot of heat from the fans and the media for letting go of Henry Cavill and Gal Gadot, for the role of two of the most iconic characters in the DC universe, Superman and Wonder Woman.  

The freshly debuted Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson in the role of Black Adam was no exception in Jame’s list. As the actor announced that after talking with the new management, it is confirmed that Black Adam “will not be in their first chapter of storytelling.” But that doesn’t mean it is the end of Dwayne’s Black Adam in DCU.

Future of Black Adam in the new DCU

In his statement, Dwayne added that after the discussion with James and Safran. DC and Johnson’s production house, Seven Bucks, came to a settlement. According to Rock, DC and Seven Bucks, “have agreed to continue exploring the most valuable ways Black Adam can be utilized in future DC multiverse chapters.

James has also expressed his excitement for the upcoming future of the with Johnson, he said on Twitter, “Love the Rock, and I’m always excited to see what he and Seven Bucks do next. Can’t wait to collaborate soon.

Dwayne has also praised James for this passion regarding this new universe. After the “disrespectful outcry” from the fans after the Henry Cavill and Gal Gadot discharge, he also defended his friend.
