After John Wick 4 Grosses Almost $450 Million in Box Office, Lionsgate Shares Whereabouts of Its Video Game Adaptation

One of the most beloved and acclaimed action movie franchises, John Wick is all set to receive its very first gaming adaptation. Grossing over $500 million with the last movie and over $1 billion across the four films, John Wick is all set to cash in its success in the gaming industry as Lionsgate teases an upcoming title. 

Other than the spin-offs coming down the pipeline, Lionsgate has also confirmed it is developing John Wick 5. No one knows exactly what that will look like, but it’s clear the studio has big plans for the series. Seeing the potential of the franchise, the studio will widen its horizons beyond cinema.

Lionsgate teases John Wick game is in development

Lionsgate has hinted at the development of a high-budget AAA John Wick game. Last year, Lionsgate teased the possibility of a game based on the iconic film series. During a recent investor call, Lionsgate executive Joe Drake confirmed they are actively considering pitches from developers for a new John Wick game. The enthusiasm surrounding the IP is very apparent. Because of the success of the last movie, the studio believes it is high time for them to take the bet.

Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer expressed his hope for a more specific update on the game soon. The discussions regarding the game are still in the planning phase, however; the studio is highly excited to make the plans a reality. The success of John Wick 4, which saw a rare growth from 3% to 4% in the franchise, has created even more energy and enthusiasm among the higher-ups.

At present, Lionsgate is searching for a worthy studio to handle the John Wick series. it is not official yet but with the progress that the company is making; it is possible that Lionsgate will make an announcement as soon as a deal is sealed. They may release a teaser or an official announcement following the confirmation of the developing studio.
