Moist Moguls is a Valorant team of the famous American esports organization Moist Esports. This Valorant team is owned by Ludwig, who happens to be the co-owner of the whole Moist Esports as well.

But after failing to ace in the Valorant Challengers 2023: North America Challenger Playoffs,  there have been a lot of rumors for many days that Ludwig is going to shut down his Valorant team, Moist Moguls. The recent announcement of Shopify Rebellion joining forces with Moist Esports for the North American Challengers League has refueled the rumor further.

But in a recent stream, Ludwig threw away all the rumors. Actually, the whole confusion arises due to Mogul, the own brand of Ludwig. Mogul was that sponsored and funded the Valorant team of Moist Esports, thus the name Moist Moguls came in. Now, after the collaboration between Shopify Rebellions and Moist Esports, a new team with combined rosters is formed named MXS (the abbreviation of Moist X Shopify).  Ludwig has spent a whopping $500k on this newly formed team.

It was just the removal of the brand name of Ludwig, the rest is all the same. Speaking about dropping his Valorant team, this was all the famous streamer had to say: “F*** no. Absolutely the f*** not. I feel very much like this is my team, and if anything, the moment I saw this clip, I have been locked into Valorant for life.”

He also stated that the “Moguls” were going to be removed anyway, whether the collaboration deal happened or not, as this was creating much confusion. He explained: “The reality is that it’s confusing that there’s a Moist Moguls Valorant and Smash section and Moist for Rocket League and other FGCs. It should all be under one umbrella, that was the goal.”

However, it was evident that there was no other way around other than the collaboration after Moist failed to qualify for the Ascension in the Challenger’s season. Moist knew they couldn’t match the salaries of tier-one teams. So, the players were free to join any organization.

But how does this thought of collaboration come in?

Meanwhile, some of the players of Moist and Shopify Rebellions went to together to form a team called Lobster Fishers, which did impressively well in the monthly and weekly tournaments. This gave the idea to Ludwig of combining both teams to form MXS. However, this wasn’t the only collaboration, in which Ludwig is a part.
