The VCT 2023 ended with Evil Geniuses claiming the throne of the Valorant Champions. The North American e-sports organization became the first one to bag the crown after beating the finalists Paper Rex by a score of 3-1. The North American e-sports group, The Guard, had been delegated the victor of the VCT Ascension that occurred in Brazil this year. Fans were looking forward to their participation because of the anticipated scale of the Americas Valorant League 2024. Unfortunately, things proceeded, and not positively. The Guard’s absence from the 2024 Champions Tour has been confirmed. Obviously, as soon as the confirmation went viral across social media, fans were outraged against the call.

The Guards had allegedly missed the deadline to agree to the partnership contract. Although the team management tried to justify the series of events by assuring some plans for the future. As you can probably guess, fans were in no mood to buy the clarification. Moreover, the community decided to take the matter into their own hands.

Hours after the news broke out, The Guard fans started a petition aiming to revive the chances of the e-sports organization making it to the VCT 2024. The petition is titled “Let The Guard Roster play VCT under another organization“. The effort seemed like a long shot until it started receiving a phenomenal response.

The Bigger Picture

By the time of writing the report, the current number of signatures on the petition is 11,437. The count is increasing graphically each hour. According to the Valorant fans, the team’s management is at fault, but the players in The Guards Valorant roster do not deserve such a treatment. The players deserve a chance to express their true potential as seen earlier this year in the giant planned season.

Also, the community firmly believes that how things end up in The Guards episode would define the interest of investors in upcoming valorant tournaments. At a stage where Riot Games is planning to only take the level higher, this blunder might be a big party spoiler.
