Sony, the gaming giant, is reportedly terminating its previous integration with social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter). Now PlayStation users enjoy a great benefit due to this feature, which enables them to share their gameplay or gaming content directly from PS device to X. However, now it looks like this service will not be available to PlayStation users anymore.

Although available only to PS4 and PS5 users, this integration feature was widely popular among players. It was also because X (former Twitter) is one of the most-used social media platforms for Esports. Now with this feature getting eliminated, PS users have to burn some extra calories to get their jobs done. Want to know more about the process?

PS users can still share their gaming content on X but with a new process

Now that Sony’s new plan for disintegrating X will be effective since the 13th of November, PlayStation users are concerned. However, they don’t need to worry as Sony has their backs covered. Users need to primarily install the official app of PlayStation on their iOS and Android devices.

This will help them to enable capturing gameplay records from PS devices, manually uploading the content, viewing the game library, and sharing the gameplay on X. After installing the app, players need to link it to their PS device. Players need to put their connection to Stay Connected to the Internet mode with the console in Rest Mode.

PlayStation’s official app will let PS users capture non-4 K videos, that are more than 3 minutes long. Create Menu or Create Button Shortcuts option will help them to capture screenshots. Further, these videos can be shared with PS Network parties or friends. For this, players just need to select the Media Gallery from their console’s Home option. After this, they need to select the captures and just upload them on the app. Once the captures are uploaded, players can select either a party or create a new one. They just need to press the + icon and send it to the required party.

While PlayStation didn’t stop gamers from sharing their gaming content on X, the process didn’t remain as simple as it was. As a result, PlayStation users are disappointed with Sony. Recently, Insomniac Games’ Senior Community Manager tweeted criticizing Sony’s policy. He wrote- “Don’t let this discourage you from sharing your stuff with us! “

Sony’s latest policy that disintegrates PS with X surely brought a storm in the media leaving PS fans utterly disappointed. Last year, Microsoft did similar to what Sony announced. However, unlike PlayStation and Xbox, Nintendo still seemed to approve of sharing content on X as Switch remained the only console supporting integration with X.
