Air Force Launches an Esports Tournament to Help the Service “Better Understand Mission Logistics Choices”

Cashing on the power eSports holds within the community, the US Air Force has brought a smart strategy to fuse fun with work. Now, besides the conventional military training, the Air Force would want you to be skilled on the console! The world was pleasantly shocked as the Air Force turned to video games to help them prepare members for real-life combat.

To aid service members in being better prepared for complicated combat circumstances, the Air Force is assisting in the organization of an esports competition. The defense system has partnered with MITRE, a nonprofit security organization. The tie-up has made its first step in the next chapter of Air Force training by announcing the tournament. According to the agency, this initiative will help, “better understand mission logistics choices and prioritization while under attack.” Considering all the requirements of the program, popular FPS ‘Drone Guardians’ has been selected to feature in the tournament.

The game will include aspects of first-person shooters, strategy, and puzzle games. Players will have to defend themselves against a variety of attacks from land, air, sea, space, or even cyberattacks – sometimes all at once. The airfield must remain operational for combat missions, thus players will have to cooperate to decide which sector to defend on a priority basis.
