Alexandra Botez has given a staggering reply to GMHikaru after he tried to troll the sisters on stream.

Chess has become one of the most viewed games on Twitch as streamers like Ludwig, the Botez sisters, Magnus Carlsen, Hikaru, and more have gone their way out to feature the game. They have clocked in countless hours of streams, averaging thousands of viewers on each one. Plus, fans have started to show major interest, making it one of the interesting things to watch.

The other thing that acted as a perfect catalyst was ‘Queen’s Gambit,’ a show that increased the popularity of the sport. But well, despite being the mind game, it has always shared its fair share of drama. Recently, GMHikaru fired shots at one of the Botez sisters after he missed winning the Best Chess Player Of The Year award at the Streamer Awards 2023.

Alexandra Botez is not happy with Hikaru over his hateful comments

On March 15, Alexandra uploaded a video clip on Twitter featuring GMHikaru. There, fans saw him sparring a few statements about fellow chess players and how he was unbothered for not winning the Chess player award. But well, his words spoke a different story, leading to the start of a new controversy.

Here’s what he said in the clip, “Let’s just be honest, I’ve won so many things, so many awards, you think that really I’m going to be super angry about winning this? If you were to ask me, am I supposed to care about this when I’ve won things like the US Championship? Of course, I don’t care.” Followed by that, he also called out Levy and Botez, saying that they did not have a bright future in Chess.

“You look at Levy, you look at Botez, or people of that sort, they’re never going to win anything when it comes to chess. That’s just a reality. So why should I be upset that they win these awards?” he said. This did not fair well with the OpTic member as she posted the clip asking fans whether Hikaru would then unfollow her. But as of now, it looks like the Grand Master is in no mood to do anything like it, as fans have found him to still share the connection.

However, the question lies in whether he has come across the tweet, and if yes, would he take the dark step?
