The Netflix live-action show One Piece officially made this announcement on Twitter. In the post, they unveiled the new trailer for Fortnite’s collaboration with One Piece.

The collaboration has been speculated by fans for a few months now and with the release of this trailer; the news is now confirmed. Over the years, the popular battle royale game has worked with many anime studios and even musicians for some exclusive in-game content, so this new collaboration doesn’t come as a surprise.

Fortnite collaborates with Netflix’s One Piece

One Piece Netflix account revealed the trailer for the upcoming collaboration on September 3 on their Twitter handle. In the recently uploaded trailer, fans get to see a battle taking place on pirate ships. It all comes together when Luffy’s ship arrives and the action starts. The trailer showcases the new map and game mode that takes place on the Baratie. Players will fight in 3v3 scenarios for control and try to be the last one standing.

However, the absence of One Piece cosmetics in the game disappointed many fans. With years of anticipation surrounding this collaboration, players had expected to find One Piece skins, similar to what they had seen in other anime collaborations.

Fans want more from the collaboration

The uproar over the lack of cosmetics made many fans comment on the original post by the One Piece Netflix team. Within these comments, many players voiced their opinions on things like their demand for skins and admiration for the update. One comment that stood out was the direct and one made by a user. His comment made him seem unimpressed with the new map, but showed where his priorities lie.
