YouTube has seen iconic creators come through the platform with the likes of Pewdiepie and MrBeast. Similarly, Olajide Olayinka Williams Olatunji, also known as JJ, has seen massive success in the last decade, quickly venturing beyond the platform. Yet what most people may not know is the meaning behind his name.

The YouTuber-turned-boxer answered popular questions in WIRED’s Web’s Most Searched Questions. The Sidemen member answered top questions, among which, one revolved around the origin of his YouTube alias, KSI.

What Does ‘KSI’ Stand For?

The co-owner of Prime Hydration has extended his influence beyond the YouTube community. It led to a number of people wondering what exactly the title ‘KSI’ stood for. Appearing in a video by WIRED, JJ revealed the origin and the thought behind the name.

KSI revealed the name is an acronym that stands for Knowledge, Strength, and Integrity (KSI). During his early years of gaming, JJ used the name OlajideBT when playing online. In fact, he registered his YouTube account under the name OlajideBT. In this period, JJ was a fan of Halo 3, an enormously successful AAA title that dominated the market. He spent hours playing online with other people. Because of his love for Halo 3, the YouTuber would go on to join a clan.

This was a community of people who came together through the game and played against other clans. JJ’s clan was named ‘Knowledge, Strength, and Integrity’. The boxer revealed he simply took the name of his clan and shortened it to make an anagram, KSI. Subsequently, JJ would register the name of his YouTube channel as KSIOlajideBT. It looks like JJ has always been a gamer at heart!

JJ began uploading FIFA videos on his channel initially, moving on to creating content alongside Sidemen members such as W2S and Miniminter. In recent years, JJ has transitioned towards a career in boxing.

Starting with a fight with Joe Weller, JJ would go on to fight several people such as Logan Paul, Joe Fournier, FaZe Temperrr, and more. He has also expanded his network by investing in a restaurant as well as partnering with Logan Paul to create a sports hydration drink called Prime Hydration.
