During the tough times of the global pandemic, Animal Crossing brought a ray of hope to millions of people worldwide. The wholesome nature of the game and cutesy aesthetics helped users keep their minds distracted during the depressing lockdowns and pandemic restrictions.

The game has accumulated a huge fanbase that is devoted to the series. But unfortunately, ACNH is “dying” according to the same fanbase. Even though the game is still breaking records, Nintendo has slowly but steadily reduced the support for New Horizons. But a recent new update brought some hope for the fans.

But Animal Crossing: New Horizons wasn’t the only first-party Nintendo game that received an update out of nowhere. Twitter user OatmealDome pointed out that other significant Nintendo titles such as Splatoon 2, ARMS, and Super Mario Maker 2 have also received updates and fixes for “stability” issues.

They speculated that these simultaneous updates are a result of “a major security bug in a common code component.” Also, there is a possibility that Nintendo is trying to improve its online service through these patches, as Shuntaro Furukawa hinted during a recent Q&A session.
