Animal Crossing: New Horizons is the fifth main title in the Animal Crossing series and recently celebrated its one-year anniversary. The recent update brought a lot of rewards and events for its users.

The Animal Crossing franchise is going to celebrate its 20th anniversary on April 14 this year. Hence, it opens up the opportunity for a brand new update coming to New Horizons as well.

Game-changing update coming to Animal Crossing: New Horizons

The next update will be a 2.0 update, which will come to ACNH in a few weeks. It is anticipated to bring some new characters and features which all players will love worldwide. Moreover, Nintendo recently brought an update comprising monthly and seasonal updates.

The recent update was arguably the biggest update of all, as it brought a bunch of seasonal events and the Sanrio villagers and its furniture. There is a rumor that a big event is on its way on the 20th anniversary of the Animal Crossing franchise, and most likely, we may see the return of Tortimer with the upcoming update.

For the uninitiated, Tortimer was the old mayor of the island before Isabelle took over. The Tortimer’s Island will also come if Tortimer arrives in the game. Tortimer’s Island was the biggest sensation of Animal Crossing: New Leaf, where a lot of mini-games were organized.

Players could visit the island with or without friends and take part in mini-games. The mini-games offered players some medals which could be later exchanged for some amazing rewards. It would be very exciting to see if we can get this island or some variation of it, along with tons of mini-games in New Horizons.

Kapp’n and his sailboat

Kapp’n has been a great escort and very recognizable in the Animal Crossing community. He has taken every player back and forth to different islands from Animal Crossing originals. Moreover, there’s a possibility of him coming back and helping us with the means of teleportation.

He even has a big family, and any individual from this family can arrive in New Horizons as well. Furthermore, we have a dock that is practically unused to this date.
