In-game items can not always rival the value of their real-world counterpart. Animal Crossing: New Horizons proved this statement with the extremely popular Mona Lisa painting. The famous painting doesn’t have the same value as in the real world.

New Horizons is the latest installment in the Animal Crossing series. It won’t be wrong to say it’s the best one in the series. New Horizons offers the elite experience of a social simulation game. However, it also provides the players to explore their creativity as the game task the players to rebuild a deserted island to their liking.

Mona Lisa Painting in Animal Crossing: New Horizons doesn’t value much

Animal Crossing: New Horizons offers various decorative items to rebuild the island, including rare and expensive actual life paintings. The game has an in-game version of the famous Mona Lisa painting, a masterpiece drawn by the legendary artist Leonardo Da Vinci. Further, this famous painting is currently in the Louvre Museum in France.

An ACNH YouTuber, socutecrossing, wanted a home storage expansion for a plot on his island. However, it would cost him 1.2 million Bells, the game’s currency. But the player didn’t have such an amount, so he thought to steal the Mona Lisa painting from the in-game museum.

After stealing the painting, he sold it at Nook’s Cranny. However, the Mona Lisa painting only got him 1,245 Bells. Undoubtedly, the buying price for this artwork is also not anywhere closer to the real one.

How to get the Mona Lisa painting in New Horizons?

The New Horizons players can get this masterpiece by Leonardo Da Vinci from Jolly Redd’s Treasure Trawler. Players can buy this painting from the sly fox for only 4,980 Bells. However, there are chances to get a fake copy of the masterpiece. But still, looking at the buying price for this artwork in the game, it’s far from the real-world counterpart’s value.

Further, the players can either keep this luxurious artwork with them or can give it to the museum on their Dream Island. On donating this Mona Lisa painting to a museum, they will add a description mentioning its origin and the fact this painting has the world’s most famous smile.
