Legend of Animal Crossing: New Horizons most valuable fish

The Golden Trout is one of the harder fish to catch as it is sensitive to the time and place of fishing. You can only catch this rare species during the months of March, April, May, September, October and November. Furthermore, you will not come across this fish in just any common river on your island. To acquire this unique species, you will have to look for it on a clifftop river.

A clifftop river is essentially a river that starts from a height and empties down like a waterfall. If you do not have a natural clifftop river on your island, you can terraform your island to form one. Just make sure that the clifftop empties into a river down below, otherwise you will merely have a pond.

Catching a golden trout all depends upon a players’ luck. For some it could be a stroll in the park, while for others it may seem impossible. If you are lucky enough to catch this magnificent species, you can sell it to Nooks Cranny for 15000 Bells. Alternatively, you could catch and collect three of them and give them to C.J. in return for a Golden Trout statue.
