It’s finally that time of the year! It’s February, and that means the last month of Winter. In February, Animal Crossing: New Horizons will bring a set of fresh changes and major updates to the game. To put it simply, this new month will offer a bunch of extra activities and content to keep players occupied.

Major updates and changes in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

With so many changes and updates on the way, it’s pretty difficult to keep track of the new content. However, to help get you up to speed on everything the game is to get before the Festivale event, here are some of the major changes and updates for February 2022.

Seasonal materials

With all the changes in season that are happening in the Animal Crossing universe, seasonal crafting materials are on their way to the island very soon. Towards the end of the month, young spring bamboos will start to spawn inside the fully grown bamboo trees. To collect this special item, head towards the bamboo island and collect these super cool young spring bamboos for your decoration.

Other than this, players can also use these bamboos to craft some furniture, as well as baskets, bamboo dolls, and the green leaf pile. Moreover, recipes for these items will begin to spawn inside the bloom present shortly.

Seasonal events in Animal Crossing New Horizons

Just like seasonal materials, seasonal events are also on their way to the island, including the ultimate Festivale Event on February 28, 2021. Thanks to the most recent update, New Horizons now has even more seasonal events than last year.

In total, February 2022 sees seven different events. From Valentine’s Day to the Big Boy Game, everything is just about fun, decoration, and, of course, celebrating this month as winter comes to a close.

Island aesthetics

With every month, Animal Crossing: New Horizons changes the aesthetic of the island, especially at the start of a new season. In February, players have to say goodbye to the snow and welcome the beautiful spring season. Mainly, the snow melts away, leading to green grass presenting itself.

Bugs

With spring, there come bugs. The second bug off of the year will take place in February and mainly see Flick visit the plaza towards the end of the month to host this event.
