Microsoft’s gaming console giant, Xbox, has a huge reputation in the gaming world. Known as one of the holy trinities of consoles (Others being PlayStation and Nintendo), it has big responsibilities towards its fanbase.

With the release of Microsoft’s next-gen gaming consoles Xbox X-series, the player base has inflated into never seen before proportions. As a result, the support team is always on the prowl for any problems regarding the console that can create problems for the players.

A new update coming for the Xbox consoles

To maintain the satisfaction of the users, Xbox very frequently releases patches and updates. The quality of life updates and minor tweaks are very important to the support team. That is why a new update for the console is announced yet again.

This new update will be available to the users as an online patch. Xbox insider revealed the release notes. According to it, this new patch will feature many quality-of-life upgrades and changes to the interface of the console.

This update will be available on September 21, 2022, at 2 p.m. PT and it will be mandatory to install before 3 a.m. PT on September 22, 2022. Users will receive a notification, reminding them to update their systems in time.

What is available in this new update?

This update will add a new feature where users can mute the audio of the startup sounds. To imply it, one simply has to go to Settings > General > Volume & audio output > additional options and mute the startup audio from there.

Other than the startup sound mute option, users can also find a search bar and link to settings directly on the dashboard of the ‘Home’ screen and a filter menu in the ‘My Games & Apps’ section. Users can now simultaneously apply multiple filters per category and clear them with a single button.

Thanks to the support team, many fixes will be added to the update. The issue where the Xbox accessories app would close unexpectedly when configuring a controller is fixed. My Games & Apps will no longer show inaccurate lists after applying the “Installed” and “Ready to install” filters. Additional fixes to the library will also be added.
