Respawn Entertainment has churned out an amazing new patch that introduced new LTMs. It added new game modes to Apex Legends that were supposed to be a new year’s gift for the community. So far, the changes along with the LTM update have fetched negative reactions from the community as the fans are unhappy with the lack of balance. In response to that, Respawn released a follow up update that was aimed at reverting some changes that had hampered the balance of the game.
Recently, an Apex Legends developer, Jason McCord, organized a Twitter poll to gauge fans’ reaction regarding the new LTMs.

What do you all think of the Airdrop Extravaganza "Takeover" style of event?
Love having new, temporary gameplay injected into Trios / Duos to spice the normal game up?
Wished it was separated into a Limited Time Mode?

It seems like the majority number of the player base loved the Apex ‘Takeover’ style game mode i.e the ‘Fight Night’ event. It introduced a whole new element to the Battle Royale game that made things rather interesting. The LTM mode fetched the second highest votes as opposed to the ranked games falling down to third position.

The poll has revealed the mood of the community regarding the type of content it enjoys. It revealed that the players enjoy the casual game modes more than the intensity of ranked games. The fans who reacted to the poll also offered their own opions on what they would like to see in the game.
Actually kinda prefer the Apex Takeover style, it brings the whole game a "freshness"
But it did take me a while to get used to the way the new mode plays and where people are going to be— Jack ‖ ◬ (@Aetheon_) January 6, 2021
Yeah, it's kind of nice, with the random care packages it makes us use the whole map rather than just going to the same place all over again..

One fan had an issue with bad attachments that the care package weapons usually have.
I think the weapons is cool. That being said a wingman with a 1x-2x is just stupid. Can we fix the sights on all care package weapons. No one really uses that sight.

The LTM may have fallen short on the polls, but this fan wants the game mode to be added into the game permanently.
events like this that still mostly lean towards the regular game are fantastic to temp add to the main game like you've done now. more drastic rule changes like the previous LTMs could stay as LTMs. Some could probably be transitioned to the main game, but not all.

New ideas are bound to have flaws of their own, and this fan has pointed one critical flaw of the new LTM.
It’s a bad idea that rewards bad players. The whole point of evo armor is that it’s an incentive to fight and shoot players. With these free care packages, it allows for any players that could’ve been aimlessly wandering to get free red and gold loot.

Such fascinating interaction between fans and developers is fantastic to see, and it will only help the game to grow. The addition of new content is refreshing, but for a long-term existence the voice of the fans has to be heard at every step of the way. It seems like developers at Respawn Entertainment truly understand that. If you want to check out the entire thread, head over to this link.
