An interesting conversation with a fan and developer on a subreddit thread has uncovered a hidden detail within Apex Legends Season 8. Developers shared patch notes of the Chaos Theory collection event, which attracted an interesting response from a fan.

This interaction led to the uncovering of the reason behind the unintended nerf to Banglore, which has caused her to become less viable. Banglore has served as one of the fan-favorites since the first season of the game. She can provide very useful utilities that can directly help the entire team in a rather tricky situation.

Apex Legends developers never intended to nerf Banglore

Reddit user u/dat_bass2 raised a serious concern with the developers regarding Banglore. He stated that post update the character has seen her power being reduced significantly. Her basic ability which provides smoke grenades, they do not cover a sufficient area as they used to.

The user also asked the developers why they felt like nerfing her in a way that has made it easy for other players to gaze inside the smoke. This has directly reduces her viability as a Legend, who was previously picked up because of a beneficial combo with smoke grenades.

The developers promptly offered their reaction to this query, as the change was unintentional.

Banglore has become less desirable in Season 8

This minor tweak to her VFX has directly made her less desirable. She is the only character in the entire roster who can effectively mask the entire team’s movement. In a Battle Royal title like Apex, it becomes quite important to have a character who can support the team. Smokes grenades play a massive role in countering the lurking third parties, who can take out two combatant teams without incurring any losses.

This is where Banglore played key role in countering the advance by laying down crucial smoke grenades. Not just that, her ultimate ability also compliments her grenades as she can call upon an airstrike in a massive area. Now that smoke grenades have become less efficient, her entire kit has suffered quite massively.

It is great to know that developers at Respawn Entertainment are proactive and they’re looking into the matter. The minor VFX tweak has completely rendered Banglore futile, which has effectively thrown her out of the meta.
