Competitive tournaments are a huge part of eSports. Warzone, PUBG, and Apex Legends all have dedicated players who prepare all year for major tournaments. While most players and teams have steady squads for competitive matches, emergency situations can still cause disruptions. A recent post has recently left fans speechless after revealing that Aurora, the Apex Legends group, will be going into a $2 million tournament without one of their key members.

Team Aurora faced multiple issues going into ALGS

Competitive matches have become a major aspect of the gaming industry over the years. From the early days of competitive Tetris Championships to today’s global events like Valorant Championship Tour (VCT), tournaments have experienced a massive expansion over the decades. And many gamers focus on making a living solely by winning such tournaments. You’d think all teams are always prepped and ready to go into such events, right? Wrong.

Popular Apex Legends team Aurora has declared that they will be playing in the Apex Legends Global Series with only two of their members.

Uxako shared a screenshot of a statement by Aurora member ojrein that was sent to him. A lack of “synergy” has been cited as the reason behind the decision. Before the event, two of three Aurora members had been facing difficulties with Visa papers. And while 9impulse did secure his documents after a while, the others still didn’t get the green signal.

This resulted in the team bringing in Uxako from another team, Entropiq. However, even that didn’t work out as the three players couldn’t find their flow while competing in the group stages.

With that in mind, Aurora had decided to go into the tournament with their emergency substitute, Taxington.

However, League Operations Manager for Apex Legends, Zac Conely, also mentioned on social media that only a real emergency would allow Aurora to make the last-minute substitution.

He also mentioned that he did feel bad since he traveled a long distance, hoping to play in ALGS. However, he wished Aurora all the luck and put the matter to rest.
