The drama surrounding the Twitter blue checkmarks is getting more confusing with each day. April 20 was a historic moment for the micro-blogging platform, as they fully implemented Elon Musk‘s decision to remove the marks. This resulted in the platform badge being a subscriber-only feature.

It has caused quite a commotion among netizens. But what is currently more confusing is that many prominent figures still have blue checkmarks. That too even without paying. Valkyrae, HasanAbi and some others are quite puzzled as to what is going on.

With the dramatic change of Twitter blue, the internet was buzzing with debates. Elon Musk, the mastermind behind the change became a topic of discussion among people. But now it has changed to something completely different. Apparently, many popular internet celebrities still have their blue marks intact. Of course, if they have bought it like MrBeast, it would be shown. But, these content creators point out otherwise.

Valkyrae, the 100 Thieves co-owner and queen of YouTube took to her Twitter to express this confusing state. In her post, Rae states she didn’t pay for Twitter Blue. She shared a screenshot as well which shows that her account is verified with Twitter Blue and has completed phone verification.

Following Valkyrae’s statements, her friend Hasan Piker joined the mix and mentioned the same thing. Ironically Hasan is a long-time critic of Elon Musk and his actions. Thus Piker getting the blue checkmarks without spending a dime is quite hilarious.

Popular streamer xQc is pretty confused about what actually is going on as well. He joins the list with Valkyrae and HasanAbi. Felix also has his blue checkmark intact on Twitter, and we could see him quite confused after realizing it.

Jackspeticeye was another figure who faced similar confusion. But in his case, it has been rectified as currently, the blue tick is not visible.

Thus these make the truth hidden behind dark clouds. It is quite confusing who is paying for these internet celebs when Elon himself is not. We can speculate that these are the actions of their sponsors, but if so, the streamers obviously will know about it. Fans can hope that more information about the same pop up in the coming days.
