Arkane’s Creative Director Proposes Redfall to Be More Like Far Cry

Bethesda’s Arkane is counted as one of the most creative development studios in gaming. They started with the very innovative Dishonored and continued their streak with a sequel. They continued this streak of highly creative titles with Dishonored 2, Prey, and Deathloop, and now once again with the upcoming Redfall.

And if gamers are to be believed, they have yet to make a game that is bad in any way. Gameplay wise, they never disappoint. Visually, their games always know how to stand out. And their ideas are pretty unique, even though they are not realized to their full potential sometimes.

And now they are back with a unique idea yet again!

Redfall might be more familiar than fans think!

Redfall, by the looks of it, seems like a supernatural cooperative game. Well, that is exactly what it is, but the developers have a lot more to say here. Studio’s creative director Ricardo Bare recently said that people might associate this four-player co-op supernatural game with the likes of Left 4 Dead or Back 4 Blood, but that’s not the case.

The game itself has a very different foundation and aims for something different altogether. The studio was aiming for a more Far Cry approach than Left 4 Dead.

They wanted to create a game with striking open-world games, with a bunch of new and unique ideas. He even went on to say that this game has so many new insane ideas that if they worked, then it would be a very different beast altogether.

For those unaware, Redfall is basically an open-world cooperative first-person shooter with supernatural themes. Players control one of four player characters to basically hunt down a rag-tag gang of vampires.

Aside from vampires, you would also find yourself dealing with a bunch of cultists who actually prey on these vampires, which is actually the right step if Arcane was taking a stroll into the weird territory.

We cannot wait to get our hands on this game and experience this world firsthand. It would be released for Xbox consoles and PC and Xbox game Pass sometime in 2023.

Arcane’s Far Cry is not a bad thing to be fair

We know many gamers have been pretty much fed up with Ubisoft’s formulaic Far Cry series. It basically follows the same rules and does not offer much in terms of variation. A few new weapons and animal companions are all we get nowadays.

But if there’s a developer that can work to make this idea stand out, it’s Arcane. So let us see how it ends up.
