Ubisoft announced the development of Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora a while ago. It was also announced that this game would be developed at Ubisoft’s Massive Entertainment. The first trailer of the said game went on to showcase some really mind-blowing visuals living up to the expectations of any modern game.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora welcomed James Cameron’s contributions

Creative director Magnus Jensen sat with Gamesradar for an interview recently and revealed loads of information regarding this upcoming game.

Hence the developers decided they wanted to do James Cameron proud. To do so, they had to make this game as good-looking as possible. To fulfill this mission, they decided to use their in-house Snowdrop Engine.

Snowdrop is the engine Massive especially made for The Division series and then it was also used for games like South Park: Fractured Butt Whole and Mario + Rabbids series. This further showed how saleable this engine is.

Now just starting with a great engine was exactly how they proved their dedication to James Cameron’s production company Lightstorm. And even though the base is Snowdrop, Lightstorm is also putting in some effort to help Massive make this game as impressive as the much-celebrated franchise.

This means that whenever this game comes, visually it would not be disappointing at all. And fans hope that water in this game would be as good as the extravagant and engulfing picturization embedded in the Avatar series.

Massive Entertainment is working on one more licensed game

Fans must not forget that Massive Entertainment has taken responsibilities that are as massive as its name. Aside from the Avatar game, the developer is also working on the upcoming open-world Star Wars title.

That game is also being developed on Snowdrop and it would be an open-world game too, only this time, players would be able to do some interstellar traveling. Above all, at least one of these games is expected to launch this year
