Nowadays, it is very common to see movie stars have connections with the video game industry as they go hand in hand. The best example of it can be The Last Of Us series by HBO Max, which was a direct adaptation of the game. TLOU bagged extremely high ratings, attracting a fresh fanbase. And since then, the world has been waiting for more collaborations between Hollywood and the eSports world.

The same goes for the upcoming Gran Turismo. This is another adaptation that is set to hit the theatres in August. While David Harbour plays the role of Jack Salter in the movie, he has some additional information on his other ‘project’ that he revealed, partnering with THQ’s Swedish studio, Pieces Interactive.

Gran Turismo and Stranger Things star David Harbour makes video game debut

A few days back, Harbour revealed to be part of a horror game alongside Jodie Corner. However, it wasn’t clear what title he starred in, as the details were kept secret. But now, Harbour posted a Tweet himself, claiming to be part of the upcoming Alone In the Dark Remake.

In the game, the Stranger Things star plays the role of a detective, Edward Carnby. He gives us the exact vibes of a private investigator but is nowhere near the 1992 original. In addition to that, Mikael Hedberg, the mastermind in writing fictional games, also plays a pivotal role in painting the perfect story. That sums up this game as one of the most anticipated ones of the year.

Moving on, David Harbour also sparred some statements about the game. “I knew of past iterations of the game,” said Harbour.

The video game world is something that I’m very interested in in general. The horror genre specifically. He’s kind of a gruff detective and he’s searching for something, and he’s hard-boiled, but he’s got some humor to him. He’s a bit of a trope or a type, and I like that. And I like the world and sort of how he’s exploring this insanity amidst all the horror and stuff,” he added about his character Carnby.

Last but not least, the game’s developers also shared a few secrets of the title. Compared to other horror titles, Pieces Interactive believes their game to be much more than that. After all, Alone In The Dark might be more than simple jump scares, featuring resource-driven gunplay, numerous puzzles, and the perfect in-dark atmosphere.

As of now, the game will release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on October 25.
