Bandai Namco Announces an Iconic Retro-Classic’s Debut for Nintendo Switch

No one brings back classic titles to the latest generation of consoles better than Nintendo. It is one of the best attributes of the gaming giant, and they continue to prove it year after year.

The Japanese company has done it again. Nintendo has teamed up with RPG overlords of the gaming industry, Bandai Namco, to debut the remastered edition of a retro-classic, .hack//G.U. Last Recode, on Nintendo Switch in the coming year.

Nintendo: .hack//G.U. is coming to Switch soon

The first title, .hack//G.U. Vol.1//Rebirth, in the highly acclaimed series originally released in May 2006. It was succeeded with the release of the other two titles in the series, Vol.2//Reminisce, and Vol.3//Redemption.

Recently, a remaster of the Trilogy was also released for PlayStation 4 and PC players in November 2017. The JRPG (Japanese Role-playing game) trilogy was also accompanied by a fourth title, .hack//G.U. Vol.4//Reconnection and the fans couldn’t seem to get enough of it.

The launch for Nintendo Switch comes as a celebration to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the .hack franchise. The franchise’s first game, .hack//Infection, launched in 2002.

As per the announcement, Southeast Asia and Japan Nintendo Switch players will receive the game on March 10, 2022. However, Europe and North America will see the title launch on March 11, 2022.

Bandai Namco‘s one-of-a-kind series, .hack//G.U., is a single-player JRPG that features an in-game MMORPG dimension called “The World” where players take on the role of Haseo, who is out on a mission to avenge his dear friend Shino’s death in “The World”.

The series received high praises from the fans as well as critics all over the world. And the remastered variant was applauded for its eradication of the multiple bugs and problems with the original game. Since its release in 2006, the series has made its way into a manga, a novel, and has also made its cinematic debut.
