Gamers were greeted with a surprise trailer package of Battlefield last year during the E3 season. The trailer promised a lot that suggested great things for the franchise. However, the released product and the abysmal beta launch trampled on the community’s expectations. Gamers got their hands on a broken and incredibly disappointing product, Battlefield 2042.

The problematic open beta and horrible launch have decimated EA’s hope of reviving the franchise. After nearly three years of keeping the fans in limbo, there is still hope for the title to find stable footing as EA announces a free access weekend for Xbox Live users to try Battlefield this week.

EA makes a last-ditch effort to save Battlefield 2042

The FPS franchise had been missing from the spotlight for the past few months. Finally, in 2021, EA brought it back from the dead, but it looks like the latest title is headed straight to the coffin again. This latest iteration of the franchise has amassed immense negative reviews and has officially become the most disappointing game in the franchise’s history.

According to the latest report by VGC, this weekend will offer a great chance for the Xbox community to try the game. The studio has already stated that it is committed to its latest project and will try to resolve all the issues that ail the game.
In other news, Xbox Games Pass users have a lot of amazing news to look forward to this month. A number of top-rated triple-A games will become available for the fans to have fun with. Games like Mass Effect Legendary Edition will be available throughout the month. Moreover, Xbox Gold Live users will find 4 exciting games being added to the library.
