The Marvel’s Avengers in-game store has seen an interesting fresh addition. And fans of the God of Thunder are especially pleased after the recent update. Throughout the game’s lifespan, developer Crystal Dynamics has shown their love for series mainstays like Captain America, Iron Man, Black Widow, and even Hawkeye. The characters received new additions to their wardrobe as stellar MCU DLC skins.

However, the only exception to this trend has been the prince of Asgard whose skins have failed to strike a chord with the fanbase. But that changes today as the developer has a surprise for fans still playing in 2022. The very first Thor MCU skin is here.

Marvel’s Avengers receives an electrifying update
The game has certainly received MCU DLC skins before. Many from the Avengers’ roster have received DLC that harken back to their MCU roots. But Thor fans have openly expressed contention with Crystal Dynamics regarding in-game offerings for the Asgardian. For instance, the players not only disapproved of the Hel Shadow skin but openly ripped it to shreds.
However, with their latest Thor skin developer, Crystal Dynamics would hope to improve upon its past failings. And they couldn’t have chosen a better setting for this purpose than the iconic Thor: Ragnarok outfit.

The outfit is a departure from his traditional long locks and Asgardian armor. The outfit follows the event of the MCU flick ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ that saw the superhero stuck on the planet of Sakaar. Thor goes through a quick makeover and finds his old friend Bruce Banner in his Hulk avatar, ready to tear him to shreds in the gladiatorial arena.
The iconic line “He’s a friend from work,” is a reference to the hilarious moment. Significantly, Hulk already has a gladiatorial outfit in-game; although, it’s not the same as his MCU outfit.
Players seem to love the new skin as the comment section is nothing short of hyped.

Fan reception remains divided on the latest Thor skin. But a majority of the fanbase seems to appreciate Crystal Dynamics’ efforts. However, it’s important to remember that skins are a purely cosmetic item in Marvel’s Avengers and only add to your style points, nothing more.
