Before Cyberpunk 2077 Sequel Releases, Die Hard Fans Can Expect CD Projekt to Do More Projects Like the Edgerunner Series

Despite a poor start, Cyberpunk 2077 right now is rocking the floors. After being redeveloped for eight years, this Projeckt Red CD title absolutely failed to quench the thirst of the fans. Thanks to the Phantom Liberty DLC for working as revival medicine for the title. But according to the production house, it’s just the beginning.

After the huge success of the expansion, fans are bound to expect the sequel to Cyberpunk 2077. But keeping in mind the long development period of the game, the sequel is not coming any sooner, at least as of now. Still, according to CD Projekt Red personnel, there is a lot to offer to the fans of the company until the sequel steps in, codenamed Orion.

Recently, in an investor presentation, the Chief Commercial Officer of CD Projekt Red, Michał Nowakowski, revealed their future endeavors. Whenever people think about CD Projekt Red, they mainly think about a game-developing company. However, according to Nowakowski, this conception is going to be changed. He stated that people’s thoughts are true to some extent but are not fully true. The company really wants to be “popular cultural developers.”

He has stated that game development will be the main focus of the company, but the studio will expand further than that for sure in the near future. One recent example of this effort is the Cyberpunk Edgerunner anime. He has also expressed his future desires to cultivate the eco-system through music based on games, a novel, comic books, and various bits of merchandise.

But the most exciting aspect of this mindset has to be the anonymous content on a Cyberpunk 2077 “live-action project.” The chief commercial officer himself announced this news in the presentation. But that was it, as there was no further information shared about that project, but there will be soon. Fans are now really rooting for Nowakowski’s aspiring words: “We’re going to see even more in the time between the Phantom Liberty release and the Orion project release—the sequel to Cyberpunk 2077.”

For the live-action series based on Cyberpunk 2077, CD Projekt Red will be collaborating with Emmy and Academy Award-winning global media company Anonymous Content. Anonymous Content has already served us with highly acclaimed series and movies like True Detective, Mr. Robot, The Revenant, and Spotlight.

On the other hand, CD Projeckt Red already boasts the Witcher series. So, this live-action series is going to be a blast. As of now, there are no concrete details revealed by either of the houses. Right now, the production team is in search of a screenwriter for fresh scripts for the series.

This new approach from CD Projekt Red is already looking pretty exciting. It seems like the company doesn’t want to hold us only to gaming arenas but also in other aspects as well. Nowakowski’s promising words are a testament to themselves. Let’s see what lies ahead for the fans in the near future.
