The Game Awards 2021 nominations are out and fans think there are some good games missing. On 16th Nov 2021, The Game Awards 2021 revealed the nominations for various categories which included over 1oo games. The entire event streamed live was hosted by Geoff Keighley.

Just a few hours after the event, Geoff Keighley, who is also a video journalist, shared the nominations for the ‘Game of the Year 2021’ category. The list included six games, but fans are not happy about how there are some games missing from the list.

The journalist also shared a link to The Game Awards official website where fans can vote for their favorite game.

- Deathloop
- It Takes Two
- Metroid Dread
- Psychonauts 2
- Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart
- Resident Evil Village
Though there is nothing particularly wrong with these games being nominated for the award, but fans didn’t appreciate the lack of names like Returnal and Forza Horizon 5 on the list.

Why is Resident Evil there? It pales in comparison to Returnal and Forza.

For some, it Metroid Dread is the only game deserving of a spot on the list.

R&C and psychonauts 2 are in the same boat of; good game, well received, but it's a game that appeals to kids so it would get less votes by players and critics alike
Metroid dread seems like the only option here for me, its the first 2d metroid in a while, people love it.

Hmmm. Iffy list imo. Deathloop is not good enough to be in this list nor is RE8. Kena should defo be on there as should Horizon 5. And honestly ratchet and clank was bang average so neither should that. List screams mediocrity of the year sadly.

Some fans think Deathloop doesn’t deserve to be on this list because it’s just not good enough. And other fans thought that Resident Evil Village was a pretty good game but not game-of-the-year caliber. And one fan shared that this list should have included Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy.

I really thought you are a man that honors games of all kinds. But I guess you are not. And then the panel of experts is worthless too. Obvious numbers mean sooo much to them fh5 is 92 , 9 million players on all platforms and not part of game of the year is the biggest L vga.

Some people were also seen resorting to sarcasm to make the sour taste the list had left in their mouths go away.
The Game Awards really prove that anything is possible if you just work hard enough, all dreams are possible if you have the spirit. You can make a game as disastrous as Cyberpunk 2077 and STILL get nominated for "Best RPG". Truly inspirational

It looks like fans had really some high expectations from The Game Awards 2021. But as should be evident by now, they were none to please with what they got, as far as the nominations are concerned. According to them, it’s very unfair that games like Forza Horizon 5 could not make that list, while undeserving games like Deathloop and Resident Evil Village ended up in the nominations.
