Felix Lengyel aka xQc is by far one of the biggest and most influential streamers on Twitch. In his long and illustrious career, he has earned many accolades and been involved in a range of controversies. Despite his shortcomings, his presence in the community is huge and he has created a memorable legacy in the history of the platform and streaming culture.

The official account of Luminosity Gaming announced the news on January 14, 2023, via Twitter. The official tweet simply stated, “Thank you xQc” and featured a compilation video with some of Felix’s best streaming moments while he was still with the organization. The streamer confirmed the news by retweeting the announcement with a blue heart emoji.

Internet Journalist Jake Lucky reported the news on Twitter, stating, “Luminosity has parted ways with xQc. The most watched streamer of 2022, wonder if anyone can afford him,” raising the question if there is any organization out there that would be able to afford such a ginormous streamer.

Jake further added in the comments, “Also wonder how this impacts LG, xQc had to be a far majority of their viewership, and they have been branching out with creators,” wondering what will be the aftermath of Felix’s departure in terms of the company’s growth as xQc was the biggest contributor for the organization.

How did the fans react?

The fans were very upset, and a bit confused. Many expressed their thoughts and regards for Felix’s sudden departure from the organization. Some fans speculated that brands such as Luminosity Gaming don’t want to work with streamers like xQc who are seen as “Controversial.”

Twitter user Fordy said, “I don’t think he is brand safe enough to warrant the $ amount. Very few brands want to work with creators like xQc who can be seen as controversial.” Even though Felix hasn’t been involved in any major controversies recently, he had gained some bad rep because of his personal drama with Adept. One user even commented on xQc’s larger-than-life presence in the community, saying that he is bigger than the organization itself.
