Brazilian Soccer star, Neymar Jr, recently has been very active in the eSports circuit. Not only did he start streaming on Twitch, and had a gaming session with the legendary eSports pro S1mple. He was recently been seen at the IEM, showing his support to one of the teams competing in the tournament. 

In the recently concluded match between FURIA and Heroic, the soccer star could be seen in the gallery, having a good time showing his support for the Brazilian team. Seeing the “GOAT” standing in the audience seat made the fans ecstatic. Even the ESL itself shared clips of the Barca star on its social media. 

Neymar Jr is the next esports icon?

Recently in the quarter-finals of the IEM RIO major 2023. Furia took on Heroic. In this match, Neymar Jr was seen flaunting the jersey of Furia and cheering in the gallery with all of his support. Unfortunately, even after such a star-graded cheer, Furia failed to hold its own and in the end lost to Heroic, in a very close-call match. 

Initially, the match seemed to be on the Brazilian team’s side, but from the second round, Heroic turned the tables and held their pace. Resulting in a Round 2: 16-12 and Round 3: 16-13, scorecard. Although Furia failed to bag the match, the joy on the faces of the fans and Neymar’s anticipation shows what a thrilling performance they were able to deliver. 

But the results didn’t stop the organizers from celebrating the Soccer star who graced the match with his presence. On April 22, the official Twitter account of ESL shared a short video featuring the soccer star cheering from the stables. The post had the caption, “Oh hey Neymar jr”

How did the fans react to Ney’s appearance in the tournament?

Seeing the star of the Brazilian soccer team, the fans were ecstatic. They shared their happiness in the comments, saying how good it is for the scene that big personalities like NJr. have been showing interest in it, raising awareness and, in terms, helping the sport to grow even bigger.
